Boruto has been invited to a tech conference held at the Hidden Mist. Everyone is being flown to the Shinonome by blimp, but Sarada worries that Boruto won't make it back in time.
Boruto episode 290 will renew with the Code arc of the manga. It will air on March 5, 2023 in Japan, and worldwide on global streaming channels like Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu.
While Sarada, Kawaki and Mitsuki prepare to leave the Leaf Village, their plan is thwarted by Buntan and Kyoho who attempt to stop them. However, Iwabe and Denki hold them off.
Kawaki and Himawari
Despite being scared of children, Kawaki eventually starts to warm up to Himawari. Her mother and father also visit the village to teach her about ninja.
Her parents are happy that she is learning to respect the elderly and she teaches her brother, Boruto, to play card games with them. However, he is still wary of the haunted inn that their parents once visited and it seems like Kawaki is not ready to leave the place yet.
He tries to explain that she is just not suited for killing shinobi and she is only good at it when she accidentally kills one, but she doesn’t listen. Eventually, she asks him to go on a mission with her and Team 5.
She goes on a mission to capture a panda so they can see if he is a suitable candidate for being a genin, but she falls asleep and he and Iwabe end up capturing it. It is after this that she realizes her mistake and tells Himawari that she wants to become a shinobi herself.
Kagura and Boruto
Boruto has been invited to a tech conference held at the Hidden Mist. Everyone is being flown to the Shinonome by blimp, but Sarada worries that Boruto won't make it back in time.
As the ship approaches the fortress, Kagura sends Boruto, Kawaki, and Buntan to look up close and check out the mobile fort. As they do so, they discover that the fort contains Leaf researchers and a large Scientific Ninja Tool cannon!
In the midst of their search, a Funato straggler reveals that it's actually his son Kobuna. The Leaf shinobi try to talk him down from further fighting, but the villagers and Buntan adamantly refuse.
While he's distracted, Boruto gets a call from Mitsuki telling him that Ikada has been captured by Funamushi and is on the verge of death. However, Boruto's teammates step in and save Ikada.
The group also tries to convince Buntan and Kyoho that they should go after Iwabe and Denki while the Leaf shinobi are surrounded. They even try to get Hebiichigo to help them, but she's unable to help Iwabe.
Sarada and Mitsuki
Sarada and Mitsuki have been investigating a series of attacks on ex-shinobi. While investigating one of the incidents, Mitsuki and Hibiki find Mikazuki, a cat that was injured in the Funato attack.
They take her home to care for her, and she soon grows attached to her. The pair becomes good friends, even forming a ninja family.
Boruto and Sarada then head out to search for Denki and Iwabe, whose Leaf shinobi have been missing for three days. During their search, they capture a Funamushi soldier, who turns out to be Kobuna, the son of one of the soldiers.
Boruto tries to convince Ikada that he should stop fighting with the Funato clan, but his words don't do much good. Later, Chojuro reveals Isari's death to the group, and Boruto decides to stop him from continuing the war.
Konohamaru and Hyogo
Boruto episode 290 preview: Konohamaru and Mugino’s mission to investigate the airship wreckage outside Hidden Leaf Village ended in tragedy. During their mission, they were attacked by Ao.
Despite his grief, Mugino tried to protect Konohamaru and his team. He was even prepared to kill himself if necessary in order to save his friend.
While fighting, he was forced to abandon his exo-suit and the computer that controls it. He also sacrificed his visor to stop Tsubaki from using unpredictable attacks on him.
Later, Sarada, Denki, and Katasuke help Team 7 prepare for their upcoming match against Tsubaki. They also show Denki’s Scientific Ninja Tool.
Meanwhile, Hyogo tries to escape while Sarada and Mitsuki drop their goons. But Konohamaru stops him from getting away and is upset about how well his students have progressed.
In the end, Team 7 takes a photo with Konohamaru to commemorate their time together. It’s a touching scene that showcases how much he cared for his friends and family.
